This exhibition is a showcase of engineering design projects by our junior [term 5] students in 30.007 Engineering Design Innovation Course.

In order to achieve sustainable development, societies must meet their present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own. Towards this goal, technology plays a key role as both a consumer of resources and as a potential source for solutions. Robotics and Automation, in particular, can provide a wide range of alternatives to empower sustainability. The field of robotics has undergone many advances in the last few years, both on the software and hardware fronts. Progress in design approaches, fabrication techniques, and high level control aided by deep learning techniques are poised to enable truly unique devices for far-reaching applications. Already regarded internationally as being at the forefront of environmental sustainability and liveability, Singapore continues to work on improving both its built and natural environment, with the long-term goal of providing its citizens with a higher quality of life.

Over the course of a term, in a team of five students, they have proposed and developed a challenging robotic or automation solution that can display innovation in Sustainability.

Join us (virtually) to witness their design ideas and discover the design process that ultimately resulted in these innovative product design solutions.
